What We Offer

Relaxed personalised care in a vibrant and caring environment. Birch Grove offers both residential and nursing care to people who value family based, empathetic care. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a beer in front of the telly or get out and about in the City centre we are committed to meeting your every need.

What We Do

Under the watchful gaze of Dodger the Cat and the expert leadership of Claire Ruscoe, the team at Birch Grove are driven to deliver excellent care for all of our diverse clientele. Activity provision is truly personalised and second to none, providing all of our residents with a life lived to the maximum of their abilities.

Accommodation

Birch Grove is a Georgian building spread over five floors and accommodating 48 residents. Although large, Birch Grove boasts 3 separate lounges and a secluded garden and our residents find the atmosphere intimate rather than imposing. Most rooms have ensuite facilities and all are able to accommodate those with mobility needs.

What Next

Please contact us using the contacts form further down this page. We would be delighted to show you round at any time and discuss your particular needs to ensure that Birch Grove is the right environment for you. If your were happy at this stage we would undertake a full assessment of needs. This would take place either in your own home or wherever you are currently residing. Following the relevant assessments we would then arrange a suitable day for you to come and try out our facilities for a trial period (usually 1 month) and if, at the end of this period, it is your choice to live at Birch Grove Nursing Home then we would be delighted to welcome you as a long term resident.

Ashton Healthcare would like to offer reassurance of our commitment to keep your loved ones safe amid recent concerns about spread of Coronavirus.

We are committed to ensuring that we keep all our residents and staff as safe as possible and as a preventative measure we are asking visitors, including family members and friends, to currently cease visits to our care homes until further notice.

We have taken this difficult decision due to the vulnerability of our residents. We hope you will appreciate that we feel this is a necessary step to take in these current circumstances.

If there is a situation that requires specific attention, we would ask that you discuss this with the Care Home Manager. In addition, we are limiting visits overall, and visits from the local community and external entertainment are cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Our staff will do all they can to ensure that life in our services remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. We are making provision ensuring each home has additional electronic devices to encourage skype or facetime available as a means of contact. Equally we welcome you to contact us for updates by telephone if you require specific reassurances.

We will still ensure that vital medical visits are being made if required.

We are being vigilant regarding monitoring our staff on a daily basis, we want to reassure you any staff displaying symptoms will not be allowed to come into the home, and we are adhering to the highest standards of infection control.

We would really appreciate your support with these measures, and please be reassured that we are closely following and complying with the Public Health authorities to ensure that we keep our residents safe, and that our staff are supported to continue to deliver great care. We will update you accordingly if the situation changes.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the care home manager.

Thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.
