Welcome to Greenways
Originally Greenways was an old manor house. It is set in its own large garden, close to the centre of Horsham where there are shops, banks, a post office, cafes and other amenities; nearby is the mainline station to London and the coast, and a bus network. Horsham Park is near to the home. In addition there is a garden centre a short car ride away that has a small restaurant with gift shops attached.
Greenway is registered for elderly people who suffer from dementia and require nursing care. Our residents are generally over 60 years of age, however we do accept younger residents if we can meet their nursing and care needs.

Organisation
Greenways is under the care of our Care Manager and Deputy Care Manager working three shifts: 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm and 8pm-8am. A typical shift pattern would be covered by a trained nurse assisted by six care assistants, complimented by ancillary staff including chefs, activity organisers, housekeeping, maintenance and administrative staff.
The home is fully committed to staff learning and development. There are some staff working towards their NVQ qualifications and there are various monthly training courses available for staff development.

Medical care
Medical care is provided by the local General Practitioner of the resident’s choice. The home has retainer GPs who visit weekly.
Referrals to specialist services and facilities can be arranged through the GP. Every six weeks we are visited by a chiropodist and other services can be arranged by appointment.

Activities
We employ a team dedicated to ensuring that all of our residents are able, should they wish, to participate in a wide range of enjoyable and stimulating activities. Some activities are undertaken in groups whilst some residents prefer a one to one session.

Food
The chefs at Greenways produce a wide variety of dishes catering for all dietary requirements including vegetarian, diabetic and low cholesterol.
We use as much fresh local produce as possible and all meals are cooked on the premises. Home-made cake is served with afternoon tea every day.
Meal times are flexible and residents are able to have their meals where they wish, some remain in their individual rooms whilst others prefer to eat in the dining room.
Regular coffee and tea breaks are supplemented with the availability of 24 hour snacks if required.

Visiting Hours
We welcome visitors to Greenways during the day but ask that visitors who wish to come during unsocial hours do so by prior arrangement.
