Welcome to Ashton House
Ashton House is an old country house set in beautiful grounds, one mile from the centre of Haywards Heath where there are shops, banks, a post office, cafe’s and other amenities; nearby is the mainline station to London and the coast, and a bus network. Within walking distance of Ashton House there are two parks, Victoria Park in the centre of Haywards Heath, and Beechhurst Gardens.
Ashton House is registered for both residential and nursing care which includes a separate unit for residents who are elderly frail and mentally infirm. Our residents are generally over sixty years of age, however we do accept younger residents if we can meet their nursing and care needs. In addition we often provide care to married couples, or partners, who require long term nursing care because they can no longer live at home.
Single and double bedrooms are available on the ground, first and second floors with the majority of rooms having en-suite facilities.
There are lifts available to provide residents with ease of access to all rooms. The home is equipped with assisted baths, showers and toilets. There are various lounges interspersed throughout the Home. There are two dining rooms of which one is a large lounge diner leading to an enclosed walled courtyard/patio in the Hazelwood unit. Our gardens have been beautifully landscaped for the enjoyment of our residents, and our home is accessible to wheelchair users. We also have a hairdressing salon with weekly visits from a local hairdresser.

Organisation
Ashton House is under the care of our Care Managers and Deputy Care Managers working three shifts: 7am-2pm, 2pm-8pm and 8pm -7am. A typical shift would be covered by three trained nurses and fourteen to fifteen care assistants, complimented by ancillary staff including chefs, activity organisers, housekeeping, maintenance and administrative staff.
The home is fully committed to staff learning and development. There are some staff working towards their NVQ qualifications and there are various monthly training courses available for staff development.

Medical care
Medical care is provided by the local General Practitioner of the resident’s choice. The home has retainer GPs who visit weekly.
Referrals to specialist services and facilities can be arranged through the GP. Every six weeks we are visited by a chiropodist and other services can be arranged by appointment.
